Art Fest 2019 will be held at the Haines School April 26-29. High school students from all over Southeast Alaska will attend. Each student will sign up for two workshops ( there are 20 workshops in all), taught by local and visiting artists. Workshops will be open to the public for 50$/ session, after the students have signed up.

INTRO TO BLACKSMITHING:

To Borrow:

• Bench grinder (2)

• 3’ Forging Tongs (2)

• Blacksmith hammers (3+)

• 40 pound propane bottles (2)

• Heavy duty Bench vise (2)

• Blacksmith hammer (4)

SOAPSTONE CARVING

To Borrow:

• Rough files (“bastard” files) (6)

To donate

• Wet sandpaper (150-600grit)

RAKU-CERAMICS

To Borrow:

• 40 pound (10 gallon) propane tank (2)

• 3” tongs (4)

• Old fire brick or kiln shelving (broken ok)

• Weed burners (3)

• Meatal garbage cans with lids (4)

To donate:

• Feathers

• Horse hair/any  animal hair

• 14 gauge galvanized metal fencing 3’ to 4’ high by 12’ to 15’ long

GLASS MOSAIC

To Donate:

• Mirror tiles (square or round (donated)

• ¼ inch plywood; 16” x 24” minimum
